About PHI
Bridging nature, science, and the market
Natural Resources → Science → Technology → Innovation → Product → Market → Sustainable Impact.
Who we are
An innovation company built on natural materials
PHI integrates the potential of Indonesian biodiversity with science, technology, and market needs to produce natural products that carry added value, quality, and sustainability.
With this approach PHI does not merely make herbal products; it builds an innovation ecosystem around Indonesian natural materials — consumer products, industrial ingredients, process technology, and product development services.
Purpose
Transforming Indonesian natural resources into innovation
Natural wealth sold raw hands its added value to someone else. PHI exists to keep that value at home.
Vision
An Indonesian natural product innovation company
To become the Indonesian natural product innovation company that turns biodiversity into products, ingredients, and technologies that are globally competitive and sustainable.

Our story
It began in the laboratory, not in the market
PHI grew out of natural product research in Bandung academia — fermentation, material characterisation, and the search for new value in biomass long treated as residue.
One question kept returning in a modest laboratory: if ramie leaf has interesting properties, why does it end up as waste from fibre harvesting? PHI’s first product line was born from that question.
That research-to-product path became the way PHI works, and is now offered to other companies as a service.
Values
Four things we do not negotiate
Evidence-based. Open to collaboration. Fair to material suppliers. Honest about what is not yet known.
Innovation chain
How a finding becomes a product
- 01
Natural Resource
Indonesian natural material whose value has not been read.
- 02
Research
Screening, characterisation, and the search for usable properties.
- 03
Discovery
A finding strong enough to be worth pursuing.
- 04
Technology
A repeatable process, not a one-off success.
- 05
Validation
Testing, standardisation, and documents that hold up a claim.
- 06
Prototype
A sample that can be tasted, held, and criticised.
- 07
Product
A product that can be made again at the same quality.
- 08
Commercialization
Into the market, or over to a partner through licensing.
